Garick was founded in 1980 and is based in Cleveland, OH.  Garick is led by its two founders, Gary Trinetti and Rick Mahoney, along with a talented leadership team that brings significant industry experience to the organization.

WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER

Mr. Christopher is the CEO of Garick LLC, a company in the business of recycling organic and wood waste into compost, soil and mulch products.  He is also currently the leader of Lakeview Consulting Enterprises LLC, specializing in the development of profitable growth strategies and management systems to drive the execution of operating and strategic priorities. 

Prior to his retirement from Alcoa in April, 2011, Bill was responsible for Alcoa’s global efforts in the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, building and construction, and oil and gas markets. As Group President, Alcoa Engineered Products & Solutions, he oversaw the following Alcoa businesses:  Alcoa Power and Propulsion, Alcoa Fastening Systems, Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions, Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products, Building and Construction Systems, and Alcoa Oil and Gas.  This group of businesses had approximately $5 billion in sales in 2010 and 20,000 employees in 18 different countries.

Bill was a member of Alcoa's Executive Council, the senior leadership group that provides strategic direction for the company.  He also served as the director of Alcoa’s Global Aerospace Market Sector.

Bill joined Alcoa in 1975 in the Finance organization in Pittsburgh following graduation from Penn State University with an accounting degree. He held a series of financial and operations management positions in Massena (N.Y.), Davenport (Iowa), and in Tennessee.  Bill was named President of Alcoa Forged Products, the Cleveland-based forgings and castings business, in 1996. In October of 2002 he was named President of Alcoa’s Aerospace and Commercial Transportation Group.  A year later, his role was expanded to include Alcoa’s automotive businesses and then progressed to Group President for Alcoa Engineered Products & Solutions.  Bill was elected a vice president of Alcoa in 1999 and an executive vice president in 2001.

He obtained an MBA degree in 1980 from Clarkson University, New York.  He is a past Chairman of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Northeast Ohio’s chamber of commerce.  He has chaired the Air Demand Task Force for the Mayor and the task force to develop a regional economic competitiveness strategy for Northeast Ohio. 

GARY P. TRINETTI

President

Mr. Trinetti is the President of Garick, LLC.  He co-founded Garick in 1980.

Mr. Trinetti received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Kent State University in 1976.  After graduating from Kent State, he served as the General Manager of The Grand River Hardwood Company for the period 1976-1980.

Mr. Trinetti is a current member of the Kent State University Alumni Association National Board of Directors and the Kent State College of Business Administration National Advisory Board.  He is also a former board member of C.E.B.I. (Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation) at Kent State University College of Business.

Mr. Trinetti served as a Board Member of the U.S. Compost Council from 2007-2009, and Trustee as well as Board Member of Clean-Land Ohio and Board Member of GIE, (The Green Industry Expo).  He also has served on the Associated Supplier Committee of the ANLA, (American Nursery and Landscape Association). Mr. Trinetti has also served on the Executive Board of The Evergreen Foundation, an alliance of green industry end-users to raise the awareness of the environmental economic and lifestyle benefits of landscapes and green spaces at home, work, and play.

He is a Graduate and Member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 1995, and served as a Member of the James J. Nance College of Business Administration Visiting Committee at Cleveland State University. 

Mr. Trinetti has been an active speaker at colleges and universities including Kent State University, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University.  In addition, he speaks at industry seminars on the topics of entrepreneurship and marketing.

Garick was recognized as an INC 500 company in 1986 and a Weatherhead 100 company in 1988 and 1989.

RICK MAHONEY

Executive Vice President

Mr. Mahoney co-founded Garick and Landscaper’s Wholesale, Inc. in 1980 and is currently the Executive Vice President of Garick LLC.

Mr. Mahoney received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Minor in Marketing from Kent State University in 1976.

Following Kent State University, he served as a sales representative for The Grand River Hardwood Company for the period 1977 - 1980.

Previously, Mr. Mahoney served as a member of the Board of Directors with the Tombigbee Waterway Association in 1997-1998. Currently he serves on the Board of The Mulch and Soil Council.
