Seasonal Business Development Specialist
We are searching for a focused and energetic individual who can provide impeccable service to Garick customers through timely and friendly communication.
This individual will also focus on creating a partnership and constant flow of communication with all organizational members to ensure the principles of the Garick vision. This position is seasonal, and is targeted to serve our customer base from February to July, but is entirely based on the volume of business in the region.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plan Sales Business Solution Objectives and resource deployment by retail Segment/Business partner
- Communication and status updates from field interactions to internal partners and teams to allow for teamwork, innovation, and contribution by all teams within the organization to consistently improve service to the customer.
- Maintain a high level of partnership with the Inside world class customer service team and the Supply chain team and facilitate execution for market/segment solutions and partnership initiatives in the field
- Compile, Review, and analysis of business trends, executable target goals and financial accomplishments
- Evaluate Market position and competing products, services, organizations, and solutions and communicate regularly with internal partners to improve customer service
- Assist in development of sales strategies and promotions to attain and exceed sales volume
- Execution of marketing and merchandising strategies with and for the customer in the field
- Ensures the adequacy of training programs pertaining to the Retail Segment/Solutions internal and external partners
Requirements

Experience
- Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
- One to three years outside sales experience
- Retail management experience including advertising & merchandising skills;

Equipment Operator - Topeka, KS
This position is responsible for the daily operations at our yard waste facility in Topeka, KS. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for operation of wood grinder and high loader including maintenance of machinery.
- Mixing and windrowing of compost or wood chips.
- Inspect incoming loads to ensure that unacceptable materials are not accepted.
- Direct customer to proper dumping site.
- Take phone calls and answer questions about the operation of the site.
- Process products, load wood chips and compost onto customer vehicles using a front-end or high loader.
- Open the site up for operation. and secure the area at appropriate times.
- Police the area to make sure that it is free of loose trash and debris.
- Other various duties as required.
Experience
- 3 (three) years minimum related duties and responsibilities
- 3 (three) years minimum experience in the operation of heavy equipment, particularly front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, wood grinders and dump trucks
- Previous experience dealing with public/customers
- Previous experience with wood grinder operation
- High School Education or GED equivalent
- Valid Kansas Class B CDL Drivers License ( with excellent driving record)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to operate heavy equipment skillfully and safely
- Visually inspect vehicles and the site
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Sales/Service Intern

- Always provide customers with timely, courteous service.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and key accounts by learning key contacts,
asking for additional orders, following up on orders, addressing customer issues and
providing information about our products and programs.
- Make sales-calls to customers and potential new business, along with market research.
- Communicate with suppliers to source products, fulfill orders and manage inventory production.
- Monitor status of orders to make sure they are processed and delivered in a timely manner.
- Monitor Gar-Tran and other sites that post loads.
- Negotiating the best trucking rates for all shipments.
- Entering and reviewing customer orders.
- Communicate with truck companies and customers regarding deliveries.
- Optimize all trucking moves using best management practices and continuous improvement.
- Ensure product arrives in a timely, safe manner while making the process appear seamless to the customer.
- Cross-training will be required with other departments as needed.
Requirements:
- Working towards a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related fields. Preferred major in Marketing or Logistics.
- Personality: Upbeat, energetic personality encouraged!
- Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computers: You must be very comfortable with Microsoft Windows & Office, and be able to learn new applications quickly. A significant part of this job requires working with computers and software.
- Multi-tasking & Follow-through: The ability to keep track of multiple priorities and tasks, and see them through to completion is crucial.

Organic Waste Driver

This position is to help launch our Organics Waste Collection Program in the Cleveland market.
Our program includes totter-pick up of organic wastes from restaurants, universities, schools,
food processing companies and hospitals. This is a full-time, Seasonal position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Always provide customers with timely, courteous service.
- Responsible for driving recycling waste hauler on specified routes
- Manually collect organic food waste and transport material to appropriate disposal sites.
- Hours for this position will be flexible.
- Need to keep a daily log for short haul operations.
Requirements
- Class B CDL
- 2 years of recent CDL driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test
- Experience with roll-off, hydraulics and wet lines
- Being familiar with city of Cleveland and surrounding suburbs for driving routes.
