Garick to distribute material in Illinois, Indiana and Southern Wisconsin

Chicago, Ill., Dec. 10, 2012 -- Waste Management of Illinois, Inc. and Garick LLC today announced they have reached a multi-year agreement under which Garick will market compost created at two Waste Management facilities for distribution in Illinois, Indiana and Southern Wisconsin.

Bigelow Tea Community Challenge Event was a huge success for all! We appreciate for all those who came and engaged with our representative, Joyce Bieber. It was exciting and fun for us to educate the community on compost, composting, and why it’s more environmental to use....

Garick will be participating and to help the Fairfield, Connecticut-based Bigelow Tea in raising the awareness about the benefits of composting to the community. The Bigelow Tea Community Challenge is a family fun day event featuring a 5k Road Race, Non-Competitive Fitness Walk, and Kids' Fun Run. The event is expected to raise $100K and all will be donated to 16 different local charities! The Bigelow Tea Community Challenge Event is to take place in all weather conditions on Sunday, September 30th. This exciting event will be taken place at the Wakemen Boys and Girls Club. 

Memorial Day weekend usually marks the unofficial beginning of “gardening season”. Most garden enthusiasts have already been spending time preparing their gardens for spring, but Memorial Day typically kicks off the season of beautiful weather and warm spring rains.

At Garick we love gardens. Not only do many of our products work tirelessly to perfect gardens while making the process easier on our customers, but many on our staff are garden enthusiasts as well. We recently launched three new gardening products within our Organic Valley line - pure compost, potting mix and garden soil, which all contain compost.

Our compost product works as a soil amendment for breaking up clay soil, a soil enricher for flower and vegetable gardens and as a top dressing to improve root structure and the vitality of lawns. When used on lawns, compost promotes better growth and greenery while reducing bare spots.
